Josiah Marr is an education leader and consultant who has served as a teacher and administrator at international schools in Thailand and Hong Kong SAR, and a private school in Canada. He is finishing his Doctor of Education in International Educational Leadership at the University of Toronto, where his research focuses on how international school leaders improve school culture. Josiah has visited 30 of the top international schools in Europe and Asia to see what sets them apart and learn from their leaders. He uses these experiences to partner with schools to build thriving cultures and enhance international student recruitment strategies.

School culture is vitally important to schools that want to reach their potential. Research shows that healthy school cultures can increase staff longevity, student belonging, wellness, and achievement. Josiah partners with school leaders to understand their school’s strengths, growth areas, and improve school culture.

Josiah has a track record of successfully recruiting international students from numerous countries from his background as a director of an international program at a private school in Canada. He has had the privilege of leading recruitment initiatives in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, and mainland China. Josiah uses a highly relational approach to support both private and international schools in breaking into new country markets and building partnerships with agencies.

He and his wife, Tami, have two children, together they enjoy exploring new places, trying local food, and hiking.
